Your codex's troops are fine. Don't dip into IG troops more than you have to.

See thats the thing, I've never been happy with the only real troop choice, assault marines in the blood angels codex (hence why i'm taking Sang Guard over them for the core.) I went ahead and went with the vet squads from the ig troop because their 170 points over the 235 I would need to spend to build a tactical squad or assault marines to do the same job (back / back-mid objective holding.) The 10 man assault squad is a unit i'd probably play as the mid-field objective contester, and the 2 units of sang guard would be for a forward objective role. The scouts are in the list for the simple fact that sniping has become interesting and I really want to give them a shot.

I'll admit i'm not quite sure how this list would play out, but I need something to revitalize the angels for me because I've been burned too many times by my DOA list and mech angels are done for with the changes in 6th. I could have put a vendetta in or a baal pred in the place of the vet squad, but it's been my experience troops are king when you play objectives.

I think Mech will still be around, just not in the form it's in right now. For all I know we may see 3 assault squads in land raiders in the next 6 months. Its still too early to say where the local & national meta will shift.

The other side of the mech angels is that I found it boring to play them. If i wanted to play a parking lot army I would have bought into IG (who do it better .)
