In my experience, every color and brand has a different ratio that works. Some paints even work straight out of the bottle. Here are the ones I have done with success. It isnt many, but hopefully people will add to it as they discover good ones.

Vallejo- Bloody Red
1/2 mixture of windex and water
combine this at a 1:2 ratio with the paint itself.

Vallejo- Sick Green
1/2 mixture of windex and water
combine this at a 1:1 ratio with the paint

Citadel Boltgun Metal
1/2 mixture of boltgun metal and mitril silver
2:1 mixture with Galeria Flow Improver

Citadel Chaos Black
add flow improver as needed. This one almost worked out of the bottle for me.

Interesting.

I haven't sprayed many brands other than Vallejo and GW but I have used a straight 50/50 mix of water and paint for a few years now. I find that I need to give the Foundation paint a bit more water so maybe a 60/40.

I used to use alcohol with the metallics but water works for me just as well.

I haven't tried to spray any of the P3 paints I have, but I can imagine they would need a different ration - they just seem so slimy.

It might depend on the air flow from the compressor. If I do a 50-50 with water, my paint clogs in a few minutes
