Time to start figuring out what to take...thoughts?

I would take out all of the high toughness stuff. Also combi-meltas are completely useless in today's games. I would think about dropping the fists on all the troops and to save some more points you could get rid of the icons. I've found they don't do as much for the lesser demons as people seem to think. I would load up on chaos spawn. Lets be honest there isn't a reason not too. Also a Lascannon dreadnought would bolster your anti tank fire power. You could deploy them in the center of your army to protect your infantry.

So I think something like this would be a better choice for a competitive 2 day tournament.

I think a list could crush someone who didn't see it coming. Leave the land raider in reserves to really shock your opponent on turn 5 when it comes in carrying those noise marines. Without any icons you don't have to worry about letting your opponent shoot at them which should save time and help with any slow playing players. You can use your berserkers as an objective holder on your side of the board going to ground and taking advantage of that great 3+ AS. Keep the lord on a steed running around the flanks trying to shoot down land speeders with his pistol.

Your list seemed to be lacking a little bit. It was a good first try though I must admit but you seemed to leave out some of the fundamental chaos strategies.

I'm quite certain Big D has just the Chaos Spawn you are looking for, around ten or eleven of those oh-so-indispensable models.

Though the Chaos Spawn list is overpowered, I believe the Land Raider list is what you should take.

As you can see I had gotten rid of most of the issues with the CSM list, like cult troops, special/heavy weapons, and Daemon Princes. To replace this I have added 6 Land Raiders to crush all that have, and made sure you had 4 chaos spawns to crush your enemies with.

Now I did the math for you on how much this amazing army will cost you. It is just the small amount of 595 before tax because I am sure you will be driving to memphis to buy this at the bunker today because you can not wait to start playing it.
