| Um. Both of those are solid options.
The GW terrain is great and there are a ton of tutorials out there for making your own terrain.

| There is also a great book that GW put out on how to make your own terrain. Online places are good as well, but this has a lot of tips all in one handy book. | |

| I like the GW modular table. It looks great and doesn't take up a lot of space when not in use. However should you choose to make your own, you can get a sheet of plywood and put it on some sawhorses, or on the dining room table if you so desire. Keep the plywood thin(1/4" to 3/8") and put some support(2' x 4' s) around the edges and about each third mark of the table. This should keep it from warping if done correctly and will stay light enough to handle. You can then cover with some green cloth or just roll out the GW mat on top. Either way is good.
I'm sure there are some good tutorial's on how to make a table out there. Watch a few and see what you think you would like best.

(Basic Tables) Miniwargaming's video is pretty good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PugcM5BE0H4 Viv's from Battlebunker AU has a small mistake but is also a good tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGKlOTL2CH8 (Advanced Tables) Eq2templar's video series is very in depth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT_kWcPLSgg&p=BF5851DACF4E0E1A&feature=BF&index=1 Finally Beastofwar has a great 3 part series showing how they did their table that you see in all their newer videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjH_T2XyklI&p=9D2486896AD40D34&feature=BF&index=1
