Painting White

So, I really want to make my next army's scheme primarily white. I've heard horror stories about painting white so I was hoping some of you more experienced painters might be able to give me a few tips on how to work with is. To give you an idea, this is what Im going for. The helmets and right knee would change based on unit type/squad. Like I said, I really don't have a clue what I might be getting into so tips/tricks/warnings, anything would be a huge help.

I have limited experience working with white, but I'd recommend working up from a light gray base coat. Whether or not you want to highlight up to white from that or simply do a solid white coat on top of it is a matter of taste and how much work you want to put into it.

In one of the more recent white dwarfs there is a masterclass painting guide to painting white on Kassorro Kan. I recommend looking for that issue! White is difficult to work with since you want the mini to look white, but white is actually the final highlight! To make it look good you have to work up from grey's mixing whites in, and finishing with a final white highlight of pure white.

I'm going to be stopping by CHG a bit later today, do you happen to know about how recent? I tried looking up what issue it was online to no avail.
