| After a game today with Monkey I realised the list is very solid for kill points but hard pressed in objective scenarios right now I'm considering this list.

| Hrmm....
I actually like the first list better! The key with your necrons will be to deep strike those monoliths onto objectives you are 'giving' to your opponent. I also like that you have destroyers to shoot things up and then swoop in on objectives you need to contest late.

| Don't forget the 25% rule. Though, I don't remember if destroyers count towards that.
I also like the first list a bit better. It seems much more mobile, and in my experience people tend to underestimate the destroyers.

| Destroyers count towards phase out but it doesn't really bother me too much since all of my warriors go to ground the turn they come in on kill points or the moment they reach an objective. | |

| Good point. Also, the mobility of an army like that is very good to have. I just don't like having LESS targets to shoot at. probably stems from my time playing 'nids. | |

| Didn't really like using the Ca'tan, either of them. I was more favorable to numbers to keep the phase out from happenning. When I had my Necrons, this is what I ran:
Lord w/Veil of Darkness
Lord w/Destroyer Body, Light Bulb
2 units of 18 warriors
8 Immortals
8 Flayed Ones
3 Destroyers
3 Wraiths
2 Tomb Spyders
Monolith
and I'm pretty sure I had some scarab swarms in there to. Also had some other wargear on the lords as well, but don't remember exactly.
The Lord with the Destroyer Body had the Bulb for two reasons, could move faster to where I needed him with the Orb and he couldn't be instant killed. Other Lord joined the Immortals and jumped around the board. The big units of warriors ensured that I could raise them back because there would be some leftover. Tomb Spyders helped with this as well, and could make scarab swarms. I also made sure the Monolith was within 18" of the warriors so I could recycle the unit that needed the most "we'll be back" rolls again.
I had alot of fun with this army and really enjoyed playing it until I played the CC armies with umpteen million power weapons in them. Equals phase out every time. I held my own with rest of them. Really trying to resist dumping my marines to rebuild this army. Hoping they will be next after Blood Angels.

| I've found Veil to be exceedingly hard to use properly. Sometimes it ends up mishaping a whole squad and your lord and that's too risky for ME. If it works for you though, that's awesome.
I also am having a really hard time without heavy destroyers. blah.
I'm actually almost on the verge of tossing my necron army. not 100% sure yet though. they're too... stand still for me.
Also, in this army list, you'd be better off with more shooty than 8 flayed ones. Just a thought.

They were the one unit that could actually fight, counted as warriors for phase out, and could infiltrate if needed. If I decide to do these guys again will most likely leave out the Wraiths and put in a couple of Heavy Destroyers instead.

| I've tried running alternate setups with the lord but the veil has changed too many game to justify dropping. | |
