Is there anyway to use a mold to make a clear plastic piece? I'm trying to mold these angel wings into a clear plastic version for Mephiston.

I have never used this specific material, but the Smooth-On folks are pretty cool to work with.

I have no experience with this specific manufacturer:

Having dabbled in the mold making - your upfront investment will be about 100 - 200 bucks for materials and supplies. Add in the time to learn how to make the molds work. Divide that amount by the number of pieces you want to make.

There's your ball park cost.

If you want more detailed info, PM me - I'll be glad to share what I have learned.

My ex girl-fiend used to do nails, so I know you can get clear acrylic to mold with. The useless knowledge I picked up from her actually comes in handy! haha you could probably use some sort of modeling clay as the mold (acrylic likes to stick to other surfaces) but I would do a test mold first to see how it works out. It sets up quickly so you would have to mix enough for the entire mold and pour it quickly, and a 2 piece mold would probably be best; I have no idea if it can be "injected" or how it would turn out.

I'm sure you could use:

Woodland Scenics Realistic Water

to do it or perhaps their:

E-Z Water

I would not use any of woodland scenic stuff... I have used several of their products and the materials when in contact with sunlight will discolor, shrink, and even bubble. Not a good idea.
