| Hope no one minds me posting this here in General Discussion, but I'm running board game night at Castle House games every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.
Tonight's featured game is Dominion, a non-collectible card game in which you build your deck as you play. No previous experience with the game is needed as one of the purposes of board game night is to introduce games to new players.
You are also free to show up with your own games, the only thing I ask is that you be willing to teach it to anyone who is interested in playing.
Last week we had four players playing Race for the Galaxy and two playing a hex and counter wargame.

| Awesome deal. I have never played Dominion before. Most of us are pretty avid board gamers too. Post away.
I need to talk to game wizard to make sure he is going to have Rogue Trader RPG and Chaos in the Old World Board Game when they come out. I am going to need both....

| I'll have to stop by. I can hopefully get more people interested in Smallworld and BANG!
I'll try and make it by next week.

If anybody wants to, get a number of how many want these games and I will add to my list. So far from the folks here: Rogue Trader: 1 Chaos in the Old World: 1

| Also; CHG has a lot of games including Small World amongst others available to play in house. We have store copies available in a number of games to demonstrate so there is no need to bring your own copy. I'll get a list of store copy games printed up to post here if that is acceptable. | |

| While Castle House doesn't have Dominion in stock at the moment, they do have Dominion: Intrigue, which can be played either as an expansion for Dominion or as a stand-alone game. I do not yet own a copy, but plan on eventually acquiring it. If you are interested in Dominion there's no need to wait for the original to get back in stock before purchasing Intrigue.
We played the base game tonight and had a blast. There was another group playing Cosmic Encounter, and it sounded like they were also having a good time.
I was thinking Battlestar Gallactica for next week's game, but I'm always up for a game of Smallworld or Bang!

| I fricking love the new Cosmic Encounter. It is top notch for certain - I think I have burnt the other Hogs out on it over the years and then again when the new version dropped. | |

| I have Descent, Marvel Heroes, Monsters Menace America, Risk (regular and Transformers which is much faster), Star Wars Monopoly, Star Wars Trivial Pursuit(Episode 4-6 version), Star Wars Epic Duels, Warhammer Quest, Munchkin w/ several expansions, and some Heroscape stuff. Descent could become a time entensive game, the rest are easily playable in an evening. If you would like me bring up one of those sometime, let me know. Would like to try the Martians! game up at CastleHouseGames as well. | |

| I'm trying to keep the 'featured' game to one that's in print and which Chris can stock, which would be Descent, Marvel Heroes (I think), and Munchkin out of your list. You can always bring any game you want and try to get opponents for it though.
Descent is one that would probably have to be a weekend game on a Saturday or Sunday some time (possibly in place of 40K *gasp*).
Munchkin would make a good featured game some time, and it's one I don't have (I have a copy of Munchkin Bites I picked up at a discount, but that's it). If you want to run it as a featured game some time, just let me know.

| He has the first three games on my list in stock. I think it would be better to demo games he already has as opposed to games he would have to order. That way if the peeps playing like the game they can immediately purchase said game. Helps move things already in the store. Most of the time if they have to order, they won't get it. Impulse buying is the name of the game in retail sales. | |

| I need to get a little more organized and get at least one copy of the featured game near the play area...wherever that might happen to wind up as. We had a lot of folks show interest this past Wednesday night so that was great as far as I was concerned. As far as old games; I also have a copy of Warhammer Quest that I would love to get four or so players involved in. It could sort of develop as an "rpg" of sorts with recurring characters that develop in levels and so on. I would like to try it with painted minis and use Dwarven Forge dungeon terrain. I could get the pieces of terrain close enough to match WHQ tiles as close as possible. If anybody gets interested let me know and I can run a game. | |

| I moved a copy of Cosmic Encounter and Dominion: Intrigue up to the front counter after you left last night. I don't think we had any buyers, but there was at least some interest that might turn into a later purchase. | |

| Thanks much for the help with things at the store, Fulminata.
There was a lot of talk about CE from some of the regulars that hang out, I am sure some copies of various games will soon be moving better now that we are getting them demoed.

| Once you get your new POS software integrated you should be able to get a better idea of whether or not these events are helping your sales. I also heard that there were at least a couple of people who are thinking about picking up CE after the event. | |

| Just a reminder that tonight is board game night starting at 6pm. The 'featured game' is Battlestar Galactica. Hope some of you can make it! | |
