starting fantasy

hi everyone im wanting to start playing fantasy does anyone have any advice

Depends on the army you want to play. If you want skaven or high elves then you should get the isle of blood.

For the other armies start with a battalion box, general and a wizard and work from there.

i want to play dwarfs but idk what general to pick

Dwarves have some strengths:

-Almost all your core can take great weapons
-Most reliable warmachines
-High leadership means you're not usually running off the board
-100% antimagic. it's impossible to get non-miscast spells off against their army.

Weaknesses:

-Old book. This works in your favors in some areas, against you in others
-Most static of the armies - usually sits in a corner or on the baseline and shoots.
-no magic to play with.

Most dwarf players in fort smith have a Dwarf General kitted out for combat and 1-2 runesmiths providing support.

You are in luck. I have a dwarf army I'd let go cheap.
