Mega Battle

Are you still bringing Dwarves? I plan on being there around 0900. Ares wants to start the game at 1000 I believe.

I just want to give a big thanks to Fethos for putting this together. It was a blast and I look forward to the next one!

Yeah it was pretty sweet...Next time I am bringing sheer chaos to the table though and charging everything I got across the table!

It was nice to play fantasy for a change. I seem to enjoy it more, but that may just be because it is still new to me. The format was actually good for me as a noob. The turns took so long that I had time to think about what I wanted to do and then look up the appropriate rule or ability.

I also pulled of some great moments for me. First turn I blew up the enemy's only shooter, the hell cannon. Then I held our right flank with a unit of 20 warriors and 14 thunderers who took out or drove off a unit of chaos hounds a 10-man unit of centigors and unit of marauder horsemen and a beast men chariot. My miners also popped up in the back field and helped hold up and finally take down... something. I can't remember if that stegadon was a stegadon or a chaos war alter.

Unfortunately my 2 units I expected to perform the best did not. My 19-man longbeard ranger unit with Bugman had to flee from their first combat only to rally and get crushed by a unit of chaos chosen. and my small unit of iron breakers never got into combat as they were constantly blocked from charges by my allies.

Overall it was a blast and I was excited that my lowly 1500pts not only survived the battle (bar one unit) but contributed nicely to the effort.

If you guys decide to do another one, I am totally in if it's a weekend I can make.

For everyone that came to the battle, thank you and I am glad you enjoyed it. Though it only lasted 4 turns, it was a beautiful sight to have 10,000 pts vs. 10,000 pts. I will absolutely organize another Mega-Battle sometime at the end of the year, and not have the game fall on a holiday weekend so that everyone can get in. I also want to say the critique given on how to possibly improve on the Mega-Battle was perfect and will be taken into account on the next one.

That game could have went either way. I was thinking what would have happened on the left flank had my 4th level been removed due to a miscast on a 1, 2, or 3 (twice). My elves would have been in trouble without any buffing. Having Ares as a general helped as well since we were mostly new players.Count me in for the next one. I am actually up for a 2 vs 2 5000 pt game soon (if there is any interest). A campaign (best of five games between order and chaos) would be interesting.10,000 pts was a beautiful sight. Thanks again.

I agree. The Hoeth Mage dodging 2 cascades was as crazy as 22 saurus being beaten in combat by 5 dragon princes! At least my puppet ate a level 2 and saved our wizards a few times.

Nate and I have been list drafting. I think we are an easy sell for a campaign/mega battle. I think 2v2 would be fine too,

If you want to do a campaign, or just a larger game(the 2 on a team 5000pts one) count me in on both!

Blake and I had been talking about how campaigns down on our end of the board. We were talking about 40k, but fantasy would be great as well. If you do one I'd love to participate!
