PostSubject: Example Team Thread    Example Team Thread Icon_minitime11th September 2011, 12:56 pm

With our group not going to be playing in the same shop, I wanted to give everyone a way to see their opponents, and have a way to call shenanigans if necessary. I am looking into OBBLM to replace this for future leagues, but this is what we have atm.

Each team will post a thread with their team name as the title.

Edit: You have two options for the first step.. If you have a google docs account, you can upload this roster spreadsheet from BGG and publish it as a webpage (and link it as the first post), or do the following step. Personally I think the google doc option is easier

The first post in the team thread is just the team roster and vial information on the team. This post will be updated after each game to reflect the changes that happened during the games.

    Team Name:
    W/L/D:
    Team Race:
    Team Value:

    Head Coach:

    Team Re-rolls:
    Team Fan Factor (0-9):
    Team Assistant Coaches:
    Team Cheerleaders:
    Team Apothicary (0-1):
    Team Gold:

    Player 1:
    Pos:
    Casualty:
    SPP:

    Player 2:
    Pos:
    Casualty:
    SPP:

    Player 3:

As you play games, you would post update threads like the following and then edit the first post to reflect these changes.

    Vs Krakonos Kavaliers (W)
    Fan Count: 8000
    Fan Factor Change: 0
    Winnings: +90,000

    Casualties:

Player 4 - Broken Ribs - Misses Next Game
    Player 15 - Dead

    Star Players:
    Player 1 - MVP - 5 SPP
    Player 6 - Casualty - 2 SPP
    Player 10 - 2 Touchdown - 6 SPP - Roll: 8 - Skill: Dodge

    Hiring / Firing / Purchases
    -140,000 - +1 Re-roll

    Expenses: -30,000

In this Example # 15 died so his entry in the main thread would just be blanked.

The other bonus to doing this will be that these teams will be around for future leagues, unless you decide to retire them. Teams that drop from the league, or do not return for future leagues will be considered retired. If you decide that you want to bring them out of retirement, then a fine will be levied (current expenses) by the commissioner. If your team can not afford the fine, then it will be deducted from the winnings of the first game back.

Since I changed it to allow google doc published web pages for the first post, Here is how you do that:

    1. Download roster.xls from BGG.
    2. If you have a google docs account, click upload, the find the file. If not, register and then repeat step 2.
    3. It will ask if you want to convert the doc to google's format, click the box for this option.
    4. Once uploaded, edit the roster sheet, filling out your team as you normally would.
    5. In the google doc window, click file, then click rename. Rename your roster to your teams name roster.
    6. Click Share, then Publish as a web page
    7. Change All Sheets to just Roster, Select Auto publish, and then click Start publishing.
    8. Copy the URL it gives you into the first post of your team thread.
