| I am modeling up some old dark eldar and know pretty much nothing about them. What weapon choices do i want to model for my warriors?
Here are my options-
Special- Shredder or Blaster Sybarite- agoniser or power sword and also splinter or blast pistol heavy- dark lance or splinter cannon
Also, I'm assuming you can take one of those options for every 10 warriors?

| I would wait until the codex came out next month (in just a few days) before I made any modeling decisions. Unless you have an old codex and want to play with it. | |

| well I've seen the shredder and it looks pretty stupid...It's a 12 inch strength 6 no ap blast. Not sure how effective that would be unless it was assault\
EDIT: nevermind it is assault....that would actually be pretty good.
The Splinter cannon is either a stength X ap 5 assault 4 shot, or a heavy 6 poisoning on 4+....not bad, but your other option there is a dark lance and I've heard you want alot of those in a DE army...
Blaster is 18 inches strength 8 ap 2 assault 1 lance....
I think I'd want to maximize my potential to poison, so I would want the splinter pistol on my commander...but then again the blast pistol is an ap 8 lance at 6 inches...

| Seperate question within the same thread-
Since warriors have poison guns, do the close combat rules for poison wielders still apply to them? (rerolling to wound in close combat?)

| The way it's worded in the BRB, I would say no... but since the only place poison is ruled on is in the 'Close Combat Weapons' section it's an awkward call. Exact wording from the book is: - Quote :
- In addition, if the Strength of the wielder is the same or higher than the Toughness of the victim, the wielder must re-roll failed rolls to wound in close combat.
It's pretty clear that this only applies to CC, but as far as I'm aware these are the first Poisoned ranged weapons with a Strength value greater than 1 (Banewolf) or X, so there may be special wording in the Codex itself.
