The keypad on my firesafe at work went bad. They sent me anew one and that didn't fix it. The safe manufacturers solution was for us to call a locksmith and have it drilled open. We would have to pay for it because the safe was out of warranty. Since we didn't want to pay for it and the safe was going to be ruined anyway, I turned it over the the maintenance department to see what they could do.
Their solution was to put it in a 70ton press and pop the door off of it.
Some of the contents were a bit squished but everything survived.
