| I am going to advise my GW rep that we are going to participate in this event. I feel like it would be good to get CHG on the map with participation in the 'Ard Boys events.
We have more than the minimum 6 tables required for the event and will have plenty of terrain available for all the tables.
How many here would be able to participate at CHG for this event? I would prefer to run it on Saturday May 15th.
The event is free and GW will be providing prize support.
If you are interested let me know.
At this time I am not sure of the army size but I will post that as soon as I find out. Also what the format of the scenarios will be.
Thanks | |

| I'd also be interested in playing. From what they said down in Conway this weekend I am not sure if they are going to be having a prelim down there or not. Could probably draw a few people from down there as well. | |

| Just letting you know, we (Conway Gaming Center) already have a 'Ard Boyz event on May 15th. I don't wanna step on toes or anything, but we've been marked down for it for a while. That's why we're doing the "Practice Event" next month on March 20th.
Just wanting to let you know, so there's no problems.

| I apologize for not checking on that before I spoke to my GW rep.
May 16th won't work for one of my players, he's heading to DC on that date.
I don't think he planned on coming to your event or he would have mentioned to me that there was a conflict.
I have no problems with anyone attending any tournament in some other place than CHG. I know there are others that do have a problem with me even opening up the store, much less trying to compete in the field of GW products. My store was supposed to have gone down in flames by now (which might still happen) but we are still gimping along.
We have a core group here that I believe will be attending the event at CHG. Most of the guys that play here would not have been able to travel to Conway to take part in the 'Ard Boys event. Some of them live literally within walking distance of the store (U of A students) which was my plan when I scouted locations back in April of last year.
The regulars that play at CHG are pretty happy that I have decided to jump on the 'Ard Boys bandwagon, as late as the jump is. I don't believe that I am taking anything away from any other venue. On the contrary; I am hosting the event for people who would otherwise have not been able to take part in 'Ard Boys.
There are two other stores in the NWA area and I really don't pay attention to their schedules of events. I present mine at the times I am able to host them and if a player decides to go to a different venue than mine I understand and don't even think a thought about it.
That is pretty short sighted on my part but while there has been mention about setting up a tournament schedule between the stores in NWA nothing has really happened in that area. I am not sure who would step forward to try and coordinate that sort of cooperation. I am pretty much busy with trying to keep events going and product flowing in and out of my store so I don't feel comfortable with trying to step up to that plate. I feel that most likely there would be a lot of resistance to that sort of cooperation in any case.
Sorry for the long rant; I am sure I have just opened fire on some folks who will be glad to fire back.
If the folks in Conway feel I have stepped on their toes I apologize; that certainly wasn't my intent. My intent is merely to bring more 40K events to Northwest Arkansas.

| I think it's great that there are 2 locations in Arkansas with enough interest to host an 'Ard Boyz event. | |

| I can be at CHG in ten minutes, if the Omnissiah allows it. Conway is about 3 hours for me, and a whole lot of pushaline. | |

| With Ard boyz the more venues, the better. Each store can send folks to regionals so that means more of our folks getting to play and less of us blocking each others advance. If you pay attention to Bols and other group sites you will see that in many cases they split up their gamers and send them to different locations so they don't beat each other out | |

| Oh no, it's fine! I just wanted to let you know so that I wouldn't be stepping on your toes! I'm new to this myself and I didn't want you to think I was "muscling in on your turf". Lol.
Believe me, I have no problems I just didn't want you to think that :-)

| No problems here with me; I figure I will sink on my own merit or swim with the help of all the folks who play at CHG. We get a lot of undeserved good comments at CHG all the time about how the place looks and how well things seem to run at CHG which is why it looks like I am blushing most of the time.
It's either that or I forgot to button my pants up again; I get so confused.
We're all good here; I took the comment out of context and blathered way too much about things I shouldn't have.
I was also kind of confused because a guy came in demanding to know who my Level One judge for Magic the Gathering was and how was I able to run FNM without a Level One judge. It was an odd encounter and I got my hackles up way too much from it.
Seriously; it was right out of the Outer Limits show.
Sorry for any confusion from me.

| Next time he comes in You should have someone dressed as a 19th century Englishman wearing a monocle.... Then he would have to believe there was a level 1 judge | |

| Nah, I'll just sic Boogie on him. But seriously, it was an encounter that turned out well since it made me do a little research on MTG. I am a Level 1 Tournament Organizer and all I need present to run FNM is a rules adviser, of which we have three qualified advisers. I leave most of the daily MTG related stuff to others so when I am running the desk by myself and I have an encounter with a customer asking details about MTG I am usually caught off guard. I don't feel that I need to personally know everything there is to know about MTG but sometimes my ignorance is not good. | |

| So are we organizing an 'Ard Boyz practice to get the feel for some 2.5k comp-less 40k?
Just. Curious. | |

| I've got the tourney pack and scenarios from last year's first round. I think it'll be good to get people used to playing a 2.5k game in 2 1/2 hours since our last 2k tourney had some people going over.
The scenarios were also very multifaceted so it would really help to step up the local tourney scene from the ole standby of 1 C&C, 1 seize ground, and 1 killpoint mission.
If you need help running it/setting up - let me know. I'd be glad to help organize.

| Sure, plus I have a store copy of the Battle Missions book that you might want to look at as well.
Come by some time when you can and we can try to knock something together; either your scenario packs or the new book or a combo of both.
That is, if the new BM book has some appropriate missions in it.
