| So, I'm trying to design some Warhammer tables for War Pig. I want them to be nice and have a few bells and whistles without being overly expensive.
Here are my thoughts, and I'd like any suggestions you might have:
1. 4' X 6': I'd prefer 8', but store space doesn't really allow it. 2. Height: probably around waist height or about the height of War Pig's current tables- I don't want to have to lean over too much when playing. This will make sitting a little difficult without some sort of stool. 3. Some sort of cup holder for both players.: Gamers like soda. 4. A spot to hold a store copy of the rulebook. 5. A spot for extra templates, dice (including scatter), a measuring tape, and objective markers. 6. Terrain storage 7. A place to put display boards or your army- I don't know if this one is feasible, but it would be nice.
5 and 7 would be on drawer slides so they could be moved out of the way.
So, what am I missing, and am I aiming too high?
Later, Monkey

| The tables legs and braces need to be painted red and black.
I always liked the extra piece of plywood making a shelf underneath as large as the top.
Makes the table indestructable.
Gives room for terrain storage both on the floor and also on the shelf.

| I would say two slide drawers on each side of the table. One large one to collect casualties of war, and the second for the dice, templates, tape measures, and books. | |

| Cup holders should have a slit in them to allow for cups with handles (i.e. coffee cups/mugs). Everything else has been covered. | |

| I'm going to start with one, mostly to figure out how much it will cost and how much time it will take. After that, I'll build however many Will wants. | |

| The only thing I would suggest is instead of the drawers on the side of the table, put them on the long edges. They could be made longer and would allow more casualty space and room for books, templates and such. | |

| The tables are sounding near perfect. Couple thoughts:
To keep them at 4' x 6', the underside of the table has to be utilized. I think the drawer type slides are definately the way to go for the extra space trays and maybe a real drawer to hold templates, dice, etc.
The big shelf underneath is a must. It helps hold extra terrain and keep general clutter around the shop down. A display board could also be set on it.
I think a display board holder isn't essential, but is doable. I think you could use some metal pipe that slides through brackets. Just have a couple of them 18" or so apart that slide out to hold the board. I'm sure there's lots of ways it could be done though.
Integrating some kind of store bought cup holder might be the best way to tackle that part.
If you need any help transporting materials, just let me know.
