Let me know what you think of my current Army List. It obviously needs some work, but I could use all the suggestions I can get. Thanks!

I played with army builder a bit, taking a few liberties. I am assuming you have melta guns in your tac squads... if not, add them in or leave a dudes hands blank until you get some melta guns. I am also assuming you have a Missile launcher on your heavy weapon slot.

I made your dread a venerable with extra armor and a multimelta.

Not a bad start at all to your force. For now I would put your chaplain in with your terminators.

Things I woould buy for your list next:
A pair of rhinos for your tactical squads.
A drop pod for your dreadnought
A predator with autocannon and lascannon sponsons.
One more troops choice for objective games - maybe another 5 man squad in a razorback?

Sadly I don't have the venerable dread, it's just plain jane and no multimetal in the tactical squad, flamer throwers instead. I do have the rocket launcher though.

Impressive that I've over 1000 points and the bike isn't included.

You can call the regular dred a venerable. Its not that much of a stretch. You can also play with your flamers as meltas until you can replace them. Learn to use the melta weaponry. Its arguably the most important weapon in 40k currently.

The problem is that they're second edition so finding melta's that would work will be the biggest issue.

Don't worry about replacing the weapons - down the road just replace the whole guy with a dude with a melta. Metal blister pack or from a plastic kit. I guarantee it is a switch you will make after you play for a while.

Oh and I didnt know if you had a regular bike or an attack bike?

Just a regular bike (no sidecar).

What should I do with my random marine with the plasma gun?

Just hold onto him. Extra options are always nice. You can sub him in instead of a flamer, if you prefer.

Melta>all right now, despite the short range.

make sure you play a few games at 1100 points. I would be happy to play my eldar or 'nids against you. I think i have about exactly 1100 points of nids. This would give you good experience against both a hordes army (Nids, Orkz, and some IG armies) and a specialist army (Eldar, Tau).

Sounds like a plan Pengo..........once I get them put together and painted.

the metal pack they sell right now will fit on all marines right now the hands on them are a little small for marines so i bet they are made for the older ones.

My Marines are old enough that the hands aren't on the bodies, they're attached to the guns.....
