Yes, you read the title of this thread correctly.

Wargames Factory is pre-ordering milti-part full plastic kits of 28mm sci-fi soldiers in greatcoats.
The best part? The pre-order deals are half the price per model of GW guard plactics.

I'm not going to go into details. Just go to this link. Go to the link. Do it. DO IT.

I don't know if the plastic is any good. I don't know if the parts are compatible with GW bits. I don't know if this is as good as I think it is. All I know is what I see. And if I'm seeing correctly, this is going to make allot of guard players very, very happy.

Wow. Great catch.

Here is a link of the actual sprues:

They look very good. We will put this up on the blog and cite you as source, ferret.

Sweeeeet... I'm on the blog. geek

Thanks for the plug guys. Nice to see I was able to contribute something.

But just to keep the conversation going, what do my fellow hogs think of these sprues at first glance?
I really like the looks of the shogun-like guns on this sprue. Nice unique design that would probably be fun to use as lasguns. If, however, you used those as the standard lasguns for an army of these guys, then what would you use as shotguns for your vets?
Jeez, there's like 3 weapons per set of legs in this kit. I wonder what some possibilities are for those other weapons on the sprue.

I think they look pretty slick. I ordered a box of them and will be sure to let everyone know how they are. I am building a quasi Death Korps of Krieg IG army - I have some Krieg, Steel Legion, Cadians (with Pig Iron Heads), and Catachans (with Pig Iron Heads). So these should fit right in.

I've bought historical miniatures from Wargames Factory before, and they do a good job. The detail on their newer stuff has been comparable to GW.

I've been following the development of these greatcoat figures for a while now, and if I don't get any of these it will only be because I know I'm not going to get around to doing anything with them anytime soon.
