| No, this isn't a question about your latest date:
What do most folks do about the lip that is on the GW craters?
I've seen some people flock them and I've seen some cut them off. Both look ok, I just wanted a consensus from some of the hobbyists that have painted them up.

| On ours, we just painted 'em black to help differentiate them from the battlefield and clearly show where the difficult terrain started. I don't know that I would cut em off. I would imagine it would leave some gaps. | |

| if i was to get some(i plan on making my own) i would base them on hard board and use coarse sand to cover the lips and have it go to the edge of the hardboard. | |

| Here's a link to a crater set with the lips cut off.

| I don't know. Seems like quite a bit of work for little payoff. I would also imagine that that solid flat ring around the outside helps with stability - those sets aren't made of the thickest plastic and I think you could end up with some warping if you aren't careful. | |

| Those craters are probably mounted to masonite. Which is a lot of trouble for a questionable amount of payoff.
In our tourney we used a lot of craters for destroyed vehicles and this is why I was pondering the question.

| I flocked mine in the same style that I've flocked all my other terrain (using static grass).
I've seen several different methods to deal with the lip, but I'm rather pleased with simple flocking.
