New Space Marine Flyer from FW

Kidding aside, I like this kit. I really want to see a couple of more angels so I can tell how easy / hard this will be to kitbash it up from a current Raven kit.

The only reason it would be hard is that the stormraven tapers down toward the back of the model. It would require some serious plasticard work. That model looks great though.

It may be a little work, but from this angle it appears that the land raider door is in the area where the raven kit goes up, then plasticard is used to lengthen the cabin back to the back of the wings. The front stabliziser kinda looks like the wings off a land speeder, and the ones on the top look like the wings off one of the smaller FW fliers.

It appears that this all maybe moot however. FW took down the page already and some sites are calling this an AFD joke. I'm not sure if it is or not, but I could see FW selling this as an upgrade kit to the SR kit.

So it wasn't an April Fools joke. Clocking in @ $127, this flyer can be used in Codex Marines, DA, SW, BT, AND Chaos Marines.

The codex SM, DA, SW, BT version of the flyer clocks in at 25 points more than a Stock BA Raven. the front bolter can be replaced like the Raven, but the wing mounted weapons have to be bought. the options are 4 HellStrikes, or 2 TL-Lascans and is a Fast slot option. Finally the Vengeance Launcher is a 48", 5,4 H2, LB. The flyer has a transport capacity of 20 troops (10 jump or terms.)

Unlike the Raven (which is built to be a gun ship first, transport second,) the Eagle is much more of a transport that has a decent anti troop armament. The Ravens downside (point cost) is the same issue with the Eagle.

The CSM version is 5 points more than the Stock SR, but can not replace the TL-HB with a typhoon ML, and doesn't have PotMS. The TL-HB can be replaced with a Reaper Autocannon, and Daemonic possession can be bought for 5 points more than Codex Marines Extra Armor. As with the loyalist bird, it is a Fast slot option.

Interesting. I'll be curious to see if anything changes between these experimental rules and the ones that hit whichever codex comes out next.

One thing is for certain, its too expensive.

A transport of 20 could be game changing though.
