 Poison Wind Globadiers

Just wanted to see what you guys thought about Poison Wind Globadiers. After looking at them and trying to figure out if they are worth using, I'm inclined to think that a couple small units would definitely be worth their points, like two 9 man units with champs @95pts a piece they could do some serious damage, wound on a 4+ with no armor save close enough and you hit on. Or even a larger unit at say 12 with a mortar attached. Great for dealing with large monsters, dreadlords, stanks, etc...

Now I do recognize that there may be better ways to deal with some of these things, but can PWG's be used effectively in the current tournament environment?

I think the range is a liability. Also, LD5 with no ranks - seems easy to panic or terror off.

meh as long as they are in a woods close to the gen they are fine....

Be tossing a Skaven idea around for a bit and i like what the globadiers can bring. Also don't see them much.

Maybe I'll just run 1 unit of 8 with a mortar attached.

I like the morter teams. I always bring 2. I have played with globiders in the past. Just to amny pounts when I can run some slaves with slings. They will pull people off so that I can do a nice charge off.

Mortar Teams have completely replaced any desire or need to run Globadiers. Personally, I feel points are far better placed into Gutter Runners because they are much more agile and deadlier with poison slings. Perhaps I would only consider Globadiers if I was running a slow moving Furnace force spear-headed by Censor Bearers and corner-stoned with Plague and Cloud.
