Help with some stolen 40K Empty
PostSubject: Help with some stolen 40K   Help with some stolen 40K Icon_minitime5th October 2011, 7:06 pm

About 10 days back, my house got robbed and a few GW items were taken. The thieves must have liked what they saw because the next day they smashed in a window and took my wife's Chaos Daemon Army, my various 40K Armies, my Lizardmen, Dwarfs and almost all of our hobby supplies. I think they would have taken all our GW stuff on the third day, but they broke back into the house when I was there and got scared away.

While it's enraging to be robbed and heart-breaking to loose two fully painted, heavily-converted armies with OOP items, fortuantely we have insurance. Unfortunately, we have to verify ownership of as much as possible and I wasn't the best at keeping alot of receipts and threw most of my boxes away. So that's not going to be easy.

I know that when my wife and I played in Patriot Games '08 & '09, pictures of our armies in play were taken. If anyone has some of those pictures they could either post here or email to mccrary @ nextgenrigging.com, I'd be deeply appreciative. I played the purple camo Tau force with the fibre optics in the lenses of the Battlesuits and Tank sensors. my wife ran a CD army that was heavily slanted towards Slaanesh and Nurgle. At PG '09 she had a hearld of Nurgle conversion that was a corrupted imperial officer standing on a modified corpse cart.

thanks for your help,

-Jack McCrary

That sucks. I buy used stuff down at the shop so I will keep an eye out for any of this stuff floating around. You should give the shops in Tulsa and Springfield a call to let them know what has happened so they can be on the look out for it as well. I had a few pictures of your army and I sent those to you in an email here just a bit ago.

Yea like Big_D said you should contact the shops in tulsa, joplin, and even springfield. Luckly by posting here, you've let the shops in NWA know also since Ares = TSE and Big_D = Warpig in centerton.

Sucks that happened, and hope the police find the ppl involved man or at the very least you get things straight with the insurance.

Keep in mind that most shops can't do anything without a police report.

They can however say, "Can you hold on a minute? I know a guy that would love this stuff. Would you mind waiting while I see if he is available to come and look at it?" Then you call the cops.

The other easy way to tell that whoever is selling stuff, probably cheap, more than likely won't leave any contact info. If they do, then take away some more Intelligence points.

And if they are really stupid, they might even try to list the stuff on ebay.

And then the cops will arrive and say, "Who said this was stolen?" and that person will say, "the internet." The cops will then say something like, "Do you have a police report for this stolen merchandise?"

Seriously. Alert all the area stores (sounds like you are) and get a police report. It will help you a lot in the long run.

Thanks for the help guys.

Here are scans of the police report cover and the relevant page of the loss list. And yes, I realize my SSN is on there, but they took all our personal records so it's no longer a secret anyway.

Who steals a washer and dryer? Have you moved a washing machine lately? Those things are crazy heavy. Just really weird stuff to steal - it was mostly warhammer and gaming stuff and then a washer and dryer.

Oh, no, that's just the one relevant page of six. Electronics (they even pulled the wall-mount for the TV in the living room), clothes, toys, hobby stuff, home appliances, the wheels off my Suburban, you name it they took it. They even stole my dogs' food and some of my spare parachutes.
