| That's right. I'm a glutton for punishment.
Anyone else picking up this up in the mood for a good ole fashion league/campaign?

| I think I would want a few games under my belt before I try any kind of organized play - does Battletech favor this sort of play though? I have never palyed and am looking forward to trying it out. I plan on reading the rulebook tomorrow so I can hopefully get a game in next weekend. | |

| Yeah, it'd be a few weeks for sure.
It does. The core rules even have XP rules you can use if you want.

| I've been told that this new edition hasn't changed much with the rules, that being the case you'd be amazed at the flexibility of the system. We used to use battletech and then the mechwarrior RPG system together. Had a long long campaign like that and it was incredible | |

| Now that I have gotten in a couple of games I feel that I would be down for this. The system is actually pretty straight forward and not that difficult to explain or figure out once you start playing. I think I will pick up the actual rulebook in the next couple of weeks and see how it is different from the intro rulebook. | |

Iron Wind Metals is the offical mini company for BT and they make Lance and Star packs that each contain 4 -5 metal mechs. However, I'd advise against buying minis for a little while until you get a feel for the game and find some emchs that your really conenct with. Unti lthen, just use proxies. Unlike 40K, BT is emphatically anti-WYSWIG as long as you have a way for everyone to know what's what on the table.
