I'm exceptionally bad at not tweaking lists constantly. I'm learning the strength of playtesting so I'm wanting to get a good idea of what I'm bringing to IDM. Below are 2 variants of what I'm playing and want input to help me pick which one. List 1 is pretty generic BA Razorspam, the second uses the same core (aka practically the whole damn army) but fits in some dreads. Anyway here goes.

List 1:

HQ:
Librarian - Fear/Shield - 100
Librarian - Fear/Shield - 100

Techmarine - Pack, Combimelta, PW -75

Troop:
Assault Squad x5 - Melta, Infernus, PW, Flamerback - 160

List 2 though I would trade all dreadnoughts in the imperium for mephiston in this list. Lots of razorback and baals for him to start behind.

I dont know much about your lists, but I dont indeed love turtles....

But based on what I know from playing your lists and other blood angels, I would go with List 2. I feel like 5 troops and 2 dreads would be harder to deal with then the extra troop and tech marine.

Even though Turtles took an early lead, it looks like List 2 is holding on to the top position. This is both good and bad as I like Dreads, but I hate buying them >_<... Also Drop Pods can burn in hell, just sayin'. As to Mephy, I used him in my early lists and I was never too thrilled. He's a beast don't get me wrong, but he's just one beast in a list full of wimps.

He's a scare factor. Your opponents must eliminate him and cannot let him run amok. He draws shots, time and effort away from your business. People who have fought space Dracula will make mistakes trying to focus on him the next times they play him. Think beyond what he has killed and into what resources did my opponents use in dealing with him.

I actually agree immensely. I have poured so much firepower into killing meph that the entire army was on me before I actually downed him. He is a scare factor, esspecially agaisnt pansy armies like Tau. Same reason I run piranhas - they rarely down anything super important, but they always draw fire pretty much the entire game.

I would almost throw your hq squads in rhinos.
You would loose some long range fire. but honestly you hvae enough that wouldn't be to big a deal. Driving up 12 and shooting two plas or two meltas out another 12 is nice. also bubbling the flame backs as they advance and leave the las plass in the back to back mid field. Libby could also shoot fear out of the top hatch if need be.

Can't shoot out the hatch if you move over 6" unfortunately, even if it's fast. I had the same idea initially, only way to move 12" and shoot is to hop out.

Yeah that's my bad, I did forget to say that someone (*cough* TO *cough* Judges *cough*) at the tournament I'm planning on bringing this to is a bit of a stickler for rules.
