Blog Dead?

Is the blog dead?

I hope not....I enjoyed reading that...

..Even thinking of creating my own to show off my horrible painting skills and army gathering efforts.



EDIT: Speaking of which, would it be alright if I borrowed the banner? Would do some minor tweaks and edits of course. If not thats cool too

I think slowed is a better descriptor.

Big_D is running the shop now, so i'm sure that takes up a large portion of his free time.

Not dead, just a lot slower. I have quite a few projects that are just waiting on pictures. Hopefully I should get those taken this week and will then start posting again.

I finally made a blog (yay me) I just hope I can keep up posts as well....I have a tendancy to let them die slow deaths. First thing I did though was insert a link back to the Hogs of War main page as you lot did help spark my interest in the hobby again.

Time constraints,growing families, new businesses and work coupled with core posters burnout just equals a slow outpouring of material. The only thing I have painted in the last 5 months was 8 malifaux figures.


Beyond continuing my duties here, I haven't even been looking at other blogs or forums during that time. That is changing though. As will says the pendulum is starting to swing back the other direction......

We want the blog to survive but we need more posters and authors. Anyone on the forums who is interested should let big d know. If it is only myself, and big d posting it will certainly be no more than a once or twice a week posting.

If you would like to use or post under the banner I would honestly prefer you to do it to our main blog

i dont post very much because my dad doesn't want me to post(only every once in a while)

Some of us who paint are intimidated by yours and Bid D's paint jobs. I think mine suck in comparison (even tho I have been told my painting is awesome; plus I just sold a painted unit of plastic Bloodleters of Khorne for $50 to someone who also paints and has an awesome Blood Angels army he painted)

Whew.

Plus my writing is bad, I don't talk too much; I am a very quiet person; I'm shy; and did I mention I don't talk very much?

I would be happy to post an article or something, but I want to be sure the quality of the blog doesn't suffer from what I post.

Id love too but as mentioned elsewhere in the thread, im not even close to what you guys do in the manner of painting and such.

And I can understand that about the banner, hence I went off and used something else instead, I did link back to the Hogs though...should label that properly...

(Could always try to dual post....on the Hogs as well as my own lil blog thingy.)

The blog needs authors. Authors to discuss new models, units, books and etc. Tactics, modeling, painting, terrain and games other than 40k. You don't have to be the world's best painter if you would like to post - just message Will and he will help you give it a trial go.

@Monkey man -- we are referring to the blog itself and not the forum.

I'd be willing to write something for you guys, though 80%+ of my information comes from reading other blogs and things so I'm not sure how useful my stuff would be.

I sent a message to Wil about some Chaos Khorne Warriors I painted. I could write a small note about how I did them; just not sure how many will like the technique. It's not really "my" technique, it's an "Army Painter" technique. But I've been using their products for some time I am very impressed with the quality of what that company has.

I still read BOLS hobby stuff but avoid their tactical and list building advice like the plague. I've been sticking mostly to 3++ and YTTH recently.

Your warriors look great Chris and I bet people would like to see actual results from that product

Understandable as I go in hobby/gaming waves as well. I was just curious I know at one time it was a once a day post. More contributors couldn't be a bad thing as long as it isn't too many and their posts are helpful in some way or just showing off their newest stuff. Some times 'good painters' get inspired by projects by 'bad painters' if the 'bad painter' had a good idea or theme.

And cannot stand YTTH... Just a personal thing though. Seems like there's more drama and arguing than any thing. :/
