Hi,

My name is Auston. I am both a historical and fantasy wargamer. I am a supporting member of theminiaturespage.com TMP. I love Warhammer and 40Ks fluff background but am not a fan of their rulebooks. However I have heard good things about the latest version of WFB. I have wrote and self-published several games through Lulu and Wargames Vault. I am a big fan of all things fantasy and sci-fi. I have a variety of armies and games and my wife has permitted me to convert our garage to a wargame room.

The periods I enjoy playing the most are: fantasy, sci-fi, colonial, late 19th century, WW1 & 2, modern, ACW and SYW. I intend to start napoleonics & dark ages soon.

Did you have a wargames store in Fort Smith a while back?

Yes. Fortress Games from Nov 03 to Sep 05 when I moved it to Van Buren and renamed the store The Toy Soldier Shop, and was there until I went out of business in Mar 06. I miss the shop and the guys that used to game on Saturdays and all the cool stuff but I DON'T miss the financial struggle, the customer base in Fort Smith was to low and I just couldn't compete with online retail shops like The War Store and others. I had considered in 2006 after moving to Siloam Springs that I would keep my Alliance account and use a Post Net mail address and try to sell online but it just wasn't feasible for me at that time.

Now I am happily married to a beautiful amazon and presently work for Tyson Foods in Springdale as the Orientation Leader for the Tyson Springdale Transportation Terminal. I wish CHG, War Pig and TSE all the luck in the world and will continue to shop at all three.

I thought the name sounded familiar. I used to shop/play there when you were in Ft Smith.

Cool. Were you the dwarf player that went off to Cornell?

I wish. Maybe then I wouldn't have to work for a living. I played Bretonnians at the time. I think I only played there 1/2 dozen times or so. I mostly just shopped.
