Ex Illis Empty
PostSubject: Ex Illis   Ex Illis Icon_minitime26th August 2010, 10:45 am

So apparently I have made buddies with some of the folks over at Ex Illis. They are going to be shipping me a whole bunch of their product and it should be here by the weekend of the 3rd.

Check out their site and watch their introductory video if you have time - this looks like a really neat idea. I am looking forward to getting the models in (they look really nice) and getting in a trial game. It is basically a table top war game that uses a really big grid system - there are about 16 grids on the table if I remember right. You move your units from grid to gird, but you do all of this through software - on an iPhone, iPad, smart phone, or PC. It really is worth watching the video as it is a bit hard to explain.

I'm not 100% sold on this, but I am excited to be able to check it out for myself because it really does seem like a novel idea. Be sure to stop by and see it - I will have it on hand starting on the 3rd.

Yea, I remember seeing the video for it from last years Gencon and thinking that it looked intresting. I just couldnt justify the big upfront on the game since it looked like one person has to buy the integral starter in a group. I like the models but untill i actually get to play a game, i'm still on the fence. So I'll probably be up there sometime after the 3rd to try it out.

The more I look at this game, the more I want to play it. The only problem I have with it at first glance is that the horses look like blob monsters for some strange reason. Its like they are made of jello or something
